Lightroom - What To Do If You Need To Start Again
The Previous button is useful if you ever need to step backward in history on any effects you have applied. Reset on the other hand takes your image all the way back to its original condition from when you imported it into the Library.
If you do press this inadvertently though DON’T PANIC! You can still get to a previous version of the image from either: Any snapshots you took By opening the History Tool and finding the appropriate point in the history timeline that gets you back to where you were.
Reset is a useful tool, especially if you look at an image and think, you know what, I am going to try something completely different with a blank canvas. Reset & Previous are located right at the bottom of the right-hand panel in the Develop Module.
