Lightroom - How To Fix Washed Out Images

If your image looks flat and washed out, you can easily fix this in Lightroom by adding contrast, which compressed the whites and blacks and pushes the mid-tones. There are two methods in Lightroom that you can use. In fact, if you want to be totally extra with your contrast, then you can even use both!

METHOD 1 - Open the Basic Panel & select the Contrast slider. Moving the slider to the right increases contrast, and to the left decreases contrast.

METHOD 2 - Open the Tone Curve panel, and using the Point Curve option, add a little S-Curve and push the highlights up, and pull the shadows down on the curve.

TOP TIP: Adding contrast also fools the eye into thinking that the sharpness of an image is increased.
